Tracy King Sharp plays an instrumental role in advancing the economic development goals and objectives of Boyette Strategic Advisors clients. With more than 12 years of experience in negotiated incentives, location analysis and economic development strategy, Tracy has helped a wide range of companies formulate location and expansion strategies. She has also worked with numerous economic development organizations on developing targeted industry studies and attracting direct foreign investment, as well as on general strategy and planning.
Prior to joining Boyette Strategic Advisors in 2005, Tracy worked at Deloitte and KPMG where she managed location analysis and incentives negotiation projects for numerous industry sectors including aerospace, automotive and other manufacturing, consumer products, digital media, healthcare, higher education, retail and telecommunications. Such projects involved the formulation of location criteria, researching applicable state and local laws, identifying available incentives, analyzing costs and tax projections, negotiating incentives with state and local government officials and implementing the incentives awarded. Tracy managed projects for DaimlerChrysler and Hyundai that resulted in two of the largest incentives packages ever awarded in the Southeast.
Since joining Boyette Strategic Advisors, Tracy has served as the lead project manager for location analysis and incentives negotiation projects, as well as a number of economic development strategy related projects, including, but not limited to, the following: providing incentives and other policy recommendations to a chamber of commerce in Georgia to assist them in retaining a large non-profit corporation; an analysis of policies/tools/incentives used in other competing regions to attract, retain and grow high-tech, high-wage jobs for a Florida organization; an economic blueprint for a nine-county region in Tennessee that included recommendations related to organizational structure, targeted industries and other areas; designing, managing and delivering a program for the economic development division of a major power company which involved development of strategies for nine selected communities over a three-year period; developing a “Foundation for the Future” for a state economic development agency that included an evaluation of their organizational structure, targeted business sectors, and programs, as well as related recommendations; conducting an analysis of the financial services industry for a city in Alabama that included a comparative analysis with four other competitive states/cities; and a Corporate Headquarters Recruitment Blueprint for the lead economic development organization serving an area in Florida.
Tracy has authored four articles on economic development, incentives and site location in publications including: Area Development Magazine, Journal of Multistate Taxation and Incentives, BNA Tax Management, and Outlook Magazine. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Georgia State University College of Law. Tracy is also a member of the Georgia Bar Association. Tracy and her husband Jeremy have two young daughters. The family, which includes a dog named Bella, live in Atlanta.
